The Putnam County Community Foundation (PCCF) has announced an important expansion to its Youth Grants program through the Youth Philanthropy Committee, broadening eligibility to better reflect and support the wide range of efforts serving young people in Putnam County.
Previously, Youth Grants were available exclusively for youth-led projects, often supporting initiatives such as youth service projects and student clubs. While these projects remain eligible, the program has now expanded to include nonprofits and organizations that serve youth.
Youth Grants are available in amounts of up to $750 and require a short online application followed by a 10-minute, in-person presentation with the Youth Philanthropy Committee. Committee members review applications, hear presentations, and make grant recommendations, which are then submitted for final approval by the PCCF Board of Directors.
The decision to expand eligibility was made intentionally to strengthen the Youth Grants program. By engaging with a broader range of organizations, Youth Philanthropy Committee members gain greater awareness of the community-wide efforts impacting local youth, while ensuring funds from the Putnam County Youth Philanthropy Endowment are used as effectively as possible to support young people throughout Putnam County.
In addition to the expanded grant opportunity, PCCF is currently accepting applications for high school students interested in serving on the Youth Philanthropy Committee for the 2026-27 school year. Applications are open online now through March 18, 2026.
Community members can also support the Youth Grants program by attending Youth Philanthropy Night at Almost Home Restaurant in Greencastle on March 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. During this time, Youth Philanthropy Committee members will help provide service, and all tips will be donated to the Putnam County Youth Philanthropy Endowment, helping sustain Youth Grants for future years.
