The Putnam County Community Foundation (PCCF) recognizes the need to better equip local organizations to build their capacity to serve effectively through collaboration and education. The Nonprofit Services program supports our partners’ needs by providing increased education and access to vital resources for growth. This work aims to create an increased capacity for Putnam County’s nonprofit sector, generating more effective, collective impact.
The Nonprofit Services program consists of three components: Grant Writing Assistance, Data Access and Literacy, and Capacity-Building Support.
Grant Writing Assistance
The Grant Writing Assistance Program is a funding program which assists organizations in applying for grants outside of PCCF. PCCF has partnered with Littleberry Press, an organization providing resources and solutions in the areas of grant funding, prospect research and grant proposal writing for K-12 schools and nonprofit organizations. Approved requests will work directly with Littleberry Press. The PCCF team reviews requests from eligible organizations on a rolling basis each calendar year. Requests are accepted and evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis until designated funds available for the calendar year are gone.

Please note, the Grant Writing Assistance Program will be available beginning March 3, 2025.
Data Access and Literacy
In 2023, PCCF implemented a Community Needs Assessment in which residents identified several areas of opportunity for our community. PCCF’s Community Data Dashboard, built in partnership with Transform Consulting Group, provides data on key indicators related to these areas including Mental Health, Substance Use and Addiction, Early Childhood Education, Workforce, and Housing.
The ability to access and understand local data is essential for creating meaningful change and providing the best care and support for our community. The Community Data Dashboard is a powerful tool that brings together key metrics about the health, education, economy, and overall well-being of a community in one accessible place.
PCCF will host a three-part data training series in 2025 to provide data literacy skills to interested parties. Event details will be updated online.
We hope this resource will be invaluable for Putnam County nonprofits, educators, civic leaders and others. Whether you’re crafting policy, writing a grant, or teaching tomorrow’s leaders, we hope the Community Data Dashboard ensures your efforts are aligned with our community’s real needs and will set you up for success.
Capacity-Building
In 2024, PCCF launched a new quarterly nonprofit e-newsletter to share announcements, opportunities and resources for nonprofits based on the feedback of over 60 local nonprofit professionals and volunteers. Sign-up to receive the Nonprofit News.
Nonprofits and other grantseeking organizations are invited to learn more and apply for capacity-building grants through PCCF including the Community Impact Grants, Small Grants and Youth Grants programs.
