Putnam County Community Foundation (PCCF) invites nonprofit leaders from Putnam County and the surrounding region to participate in the Learning Series 2026: Lead with Purpose, a four-session professional development series facilitated by Hedges. Designed for peer learning, the series will bring together nonprofit staff, board members, and volunteers to build shared knowledge and strengthen leadership capacity in support of organizational missions.
Lead with Purpose offers practical, accessible training focused on nonprofit governance, strategy, fundraising, and collaboration. Participants will learn side by side over the course of four half-day sessions held throughout 2026.
The series will take place on March 12, May 14, September 10, and November 12, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Inn at DePauw, located at 2 West Seminary, Greencastle, Indiana. The cost to attend is $60 for the full series or $20 per individual session. Organizations that register for the complete series may take advantage of a buy one, get one seat free opportunity for their organization.
Session topics include:
Session 1 (March 12): Nonprofit Fundamentals and Choosing Your Cause — An overview of how nonprofit organizations are structured, governed, and funded, along with guidance for individuals exploring meaningful nonprofit board service.
Session 2 (May 14): Core Responsibilities of Nonprofit Boards and Effective Staff and Board Roles — A focus on board fiduciary responsibilities and the complementary roles of staff and board leadership.
Session 3 (September 10): Building a Thriving Board and Setting Vision and Strategy — Best practices for board recruitment, culture, and strategic planning for long-term organizational health.
Session 4 (November 12): Fundraising Essentials for Board Members and Creating a Simple and Effective Digital Media Strategy — Practical approaches to board-led fundraising and storytelling through digital media.
The Learning Series 2026 is ideal for current and prospective nonprofit board members, nonprofit staff, and engaged volunteers seeking to lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
