PCCF Implements New Nonprofit Services Program

Putnam County Community Foundation (PCCF) is excited to announce the launch of our new Nonprofit Services Program, designed to better equip and empower local nonprofit organizations in Putnam County. Starting in 2025, this innovative program will offer invaluable resources, support, and education to help nonprofit organizations grow, thrive, and achieve their missions.

As a foundation, PCCF recognizes the importance of strengthening the nonprofit sector to create lasting and effective change in our community. By focusing on collaboration and capacity-building, we aim to help local organizations build a stronger foundation to better serve those in need both now and in the future. The new program consists of three primary components: Grant Writing Assistance, Data Access and Literacy, and Capacity-Building Support.

Grant Writing Assistance

One of the key services offered by the Nonprofit Services Program is Grant Writing Assistance. Understanding the critical role that grant funding plays in helping organizations achieve their goals, PCCF is partnering with a professional grant writer who will offer their services to local nonprofits. This one-time engagement will connect organizations seeking external funding with an experienced grant writer, helping them craft compelling applications to support their work.

This service will be available to nonprofits beginning in March 2025. PCCF’s role is to promote the service, accept inquiries from organizations, and connect them with the grant writer. We’ll be collecting feedback from participating organizations to evaluate the success and continuation of this service in the future.

In addition, PCCF is thrilled to announce public access to GrantSelect, a powerful grantseeking database, in partnership with the Putnam County Public Library. All Putnam County Public Library cardholders will have access to GrantSelect, enabling them to explore a wealth of funding opportunities right from their own devices.

Data Access and Literacy

Data is an incredibly powerful tool that can help nonprofits improve their programs, measure impact, and tell compelling stories about the work they do. To support this, PCCF recently launched the Community Data Dashboard, a user-friendly, one-stop spot for quality data related to key focus areas identified in the 2023 Community Needs Assessment

In addition to making the data accessible, we are hosting three training sessions in 2025, facilitated by Transform Consulting Group. These sessions on April 9, June 4, and August 13 will explore how to navigate and interpret the dashboard, use data for program evaluation, and harness data to tell your nonprofit’s story. By offering this support, we hope to empower organizations to make informed decisions that strengthen their impact in the community.

Capacity-Building Support

Finally, PCCF hopes to introduce additional capacity-building opportunities later in 2025. These opportunities will allow organizations to invest in their own growth, whether it’s through professional development opportunities for staff or strategic investments in improving operational systems. The goal is to help local nonprofits build long-term sustainability, enabling them to increase their effectiveness and continue to serve our community for years to come.

Looking Ahead

The launch of the Nonprofit Services Program marks a major step forward in PCCF’s commitment to strengthening our local nonprofit sector. By offering resources such as grant writing assistance, data access and literacy training, and capacity-building support, we are helping organizations grow, create lasting change, and have a more significant collective impact in Putnam County.
