Murray and Sara Pride Scholarship Fund

Sara and Murray Pride

Year Founded
2009

Founder
Murray and Sara Pride

Purpose of Fund
The Murray and Sara Pride Scholarship is to be awarded to a graduating senior from North Putnam High School or its successor who best exemplifies the character and values most important to the Prides: honesty, a strong work ethic, volunteerism, a commitment to the school and community, participation in extra-curricular activities, community service, and pursuit of a variety of interests.

History

Lifelong educators, Murray and Sara Pride moved to Putnam County in 1994. Mr. Pride served as the Superintendent of the North Putnam Community Schools until his retirement in 2009. Both Mr. and Mrs. Pride are very active in the Putnam County community and are strong supporters of both curricular and extra-curricular activities. They enjoyed seeing students grow and mature during their school years and felt this growth and maturity was enhanced when students were involved in a variety of community and school activities. This scholarship, awarded each year to a graduating North Putnam High School senior, is their way of giving back to the North Putnam students who so enriched their lives.
