Endowment for Fraternity and Sorority Philanthropy

Interfraternal Council

Year Founded
2006

Purpose of Fund

The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide financial support to charitable projects, charities, and educational activities to include scholarships and other educational expenses, as suggested by the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council and/or National Pan-Hellenic Council, as they contribute, at DePauw University and approved by the Board of Directors of the Foundation.

History of Fund

The Endowment for Fraternity and Sorority Philanthropy was established in 2006 by the Interfraternal Council as a way Greek students at DePauw could cross chapter lines to affect the local community through philanthropic dollars.

Each year the Interfraternal Council, Panhellenic Council and other Greek-lettered chapters meet to decide together what charitable cause or causes should be the recipient of a grant from the endowment. The funds from the endowment are the result of chapter fees, recruitment fines and generous alumni and parents. This is just one way the fraternities and sororities at DePauw give back to the local community.
