Cyril Johnson Fund for the Putnam County Library Genealogy Room

Cyril Johnson

Year Founded
1991

Purpose of Fund
To establish and/or maintain a genealogy room and related genealogy programs within the Public County Public Library.

History of Fund

To continue giving to his community, Cyril L. Johnson, a former teacher and guidance counselor in Putnam County, created a bequest for the establishment of a fund whose purpose would serve the Putnam County Public Library by establishing a room solely for genealogical use and purpose. A highly educated lover of history, Cyril L. Johnson knew just how important a role the study of history, particularly family history, could play in the lives of individuals and their families, as well as the contributions it could make to the Putnam County community as a whole.
