Purpose of Fund
The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide a yearly grant to the most worthwhile proposal submitted and established by the following guidelines:

a.) The proposal must demonstrate need by a community organization or individual that is actively involved in promoting the arts through one of the following: performance, education, or creating awareness of the arts.

b.) The proposal must impact the community of Putnam County and must affect a wide range of people or create an opportunity for individuals to be involved in the arts through education or performance.

c.) Further purposes of the fund include, but are not limited to, the purchase of equipment, (i.e. instruments), to cover costs of special performances or educational programs for youth.

History of Fund

Jason Asbury, a graduate of South Putnam High School and DePauw University established the Endowment in 1995. The mission of the Endowment is to provide funding for community organizations and individuals that are actively involved in promoting the arts through one of the following: performance, education or creating awareness of the arts. Further purposes of the Fund include, but are not limited to, the purchase of equipment, (i.e. instruments) and costs of special performances or educational programs for youth.

Previous grants have been awarded to the following organizations:

• The Putnam County Playhouse
• Impressions, Greencastle High School's student run literay and art magazine
• North Putnam High School Band Parents
• Gobin United Methodist Church summer outreach program
• New Providence Church music outreach program
