Purpose of Fund
The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide financial support to charitable projects and agencies as suggested by the Fund Agent, and approved by the Foundation Board of Directors provided that such programs and contributions are consistent with the exempt purposes and status of the Foundation.  

History of Fund
Ellie Ypma graduated from Purdue University in 1960 with an undergraduate degree and continued her education there until earning a Ph.D. in 1971. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Speech, a Master’s Degree with a major in Counseling and Guidance and minors in Recreation Leadership and Education, and, finally, a Ph.D. with a major in Higher Education Administration and minors in Psychological Measurement and History.

After receiving her Ph.D., Ellie played an integral role in DePauw University. She held the position of Registrar and Associate Vice President with rank of professor from 1971 to 2004. During this time period, she also served as Director of Institutional Research, Director of Graduate Studies, and Co-resident Director of GLCA/ACM Japan Study in Tokyo. While she worked, she served on many committees in Putnam County.

Upon retirement, Ellie continued to be active in her community. She currently volunteers with several organizations and serves as the President of the Putnam County Community Foundation.
