Lambda Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity
Purpose of Fund
Grants are awarded from the Lambda Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta Philanthropy Fund to support the changing needs and aspirations of the people in Putnam County as the years go by.
History of Fund
The Lambda Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity (Fiji) at DePauw have a storied history of philanthropy in Putnam County since their founding on the campus in 1856. With the establishment of this endowment, they have ensured an even richer legacy. "This endowment was important for our chapter so we could have an amount of money that would last forever and provide us with a tool to have an impact on the Putnam County community every year no matter what happens," Chapter President, Avery Archer said. "It also gives us a chance each year to discuss philanthropy and charities we want to support as a chapter." In the recent past, the Fijis have hosted the Fiji Bark-B-Q that benefits the Putnam County Humane Society and the Fiji Pumpkin Bash that supports the American Red Cross.
