John and Rea Zeiner

Purpose of Fund
The primary purpose of the Funds shall be to provide unrestricted financial support to the programs and purposes of the Putnam County Community Foundation, Putnam County, Indiana.

History of Fund

John and Rea (Sutherlin) Zeiner are Putnam County natives.  John graduated from Fillmore High School, and Rea graduated from Greencastle High School.  Their four children, Gary R. Zeiner, Sandra (Zeiner) Ditmars, Sherri (Zeiner) Holm and David B Zeiner are all graduates of Greencastle High School and Purdue University.  John and Rea have been active and involved in the community, and established a donor-advised fund in 2006 for the convenience and flexibility it provides for their philanthropic giving.  In 2014, John and Rea were inspired by the matching challenge presented by Lilly Endowment and established a new unrestricted endowment that will grow and support projects in all geographic and philanthropic areas in Putnam County in perpetuity.
