Aura May Durham Community Endowment

Aura May Durham

Year Founded

Aura May Durham

Purpose of Fund
Grants are awarded from the Aura May Durham Community Endowment to support the changing needs and aspirations of the people in Putnam County as the years go by.

History of Fund
The Durham family name goes back in Putnam County over 180 years. This place has been kind to the family, Aura May will say, but the Durhams have perhaps been even more generous in return. Aura has been the smiling face welcoming folks to the Durham Building – where she conducts her abstract business – since 1954. A frequent benefactor of the Putnam County Community Foundation, it is fitting that both she and her brother, J. Frank Durham, now have endowments in their names.
